In typical Wye River fashion we will see the coast go from zero to hero in a matter of days. We have been plodding along here for 6 months now at a fairly steady (but slow!) pace.

Under the new circumstances, venues will be allowed to provide a seated service, however it is still a requirement for this operation to be table service only. We currently don't have the human resources to orchestrate such a scenario, as such we will continue to trade as takeaway only from the cafe.

During the school holidays our hours will be:

CAFE DAILY 8AM - 3PM (kitchen 8AM - 230PM)

STORE DAILY 8AM - 5PM

We will still have limits on numbers in the store, so please be patient and try to enjoy the holiday season as much as possible 🙂

Well, what a time.

I'll keep it short and sweet - everyone knows there is a health pandemic.

The cafe us currently closed until further notice. HOWEVER, we are still serving takeaway coffee and food through our kiosk 🙂

The store is open everyday at the moment, and we are taking grocery orders over the phone 03 5289 0247 for pickup outside the store if you are isolating.

Below is a planning permit from Colac Otway Shire regarding the replacement of a comms tower.

Santa must have upgraded his sled to a turbo because I feel like Christmas only just finished, yet it's only 2 days away.

We have been stacking the shelves in the shop for weeks to make your holiday in Wye River easy like today's fresh sea breeze.

With 7 days of pure sunshine on the program, everyone should be able to enjoy the great outdoors that we all come here for. The new tourism sign out the front on the notice board (pictured below) details some local walks and natural attractions to visit whilst in town.

Unfortunately this season we won't have a dinner service, due to unforeseen circumstances i.e. one of our longstanding staff rental properties has been sold, leaving us short of accommodation. So the cafe hours will be 730AM - 5PM daily, with kitchen hours 730AM - 330PM. The store will trade 7AM - 7PM daily (hours subject to change on public holidays). And of course the kiosk will be open for take-away coffees from 7AM, and all your deep fried needs when tip-toeing in from the hot sand!

Beautiful day on the coast today, and the surf is pumping!

Our kitchen is receiving some TLC next week and so we will be serving coffee and pies through the store, but the kitchen will be closed to relay vinyl and re-coat the paint.

In case you haven't heard, VICROADS are closing the Great Ocean Road between Lorne and Separation Creek for 4 days, starting Monday 28/29/30/31 MAY.

To access Wye River from the North, you will need to enter via Skenes Creek, or, for the more adventurous, Grey River Rd.

The store and cafe will be open for business as usual.

For those of you who are wondering, we are open on Anzac Day serving coffee, cake and a limited menu (think pies and toasties - kitchen will be closed), from 8am - 3pm.

EASTER WEEKEND

A four-day banger to kick-off the school holidays this year. We have what you need to get through the weekend seamlessly. Weather is looking very cafe-friendly! We will be open everyday. No dinner service this weekend so head to the pub or pop in to the shop for some local meats and fresh produce.

We will be baking everyday: organic white sourdough, turkish bread, croissants, doughnuts. We will also be stocked up with Zeally Bay organic hot cross buns and the polar opposite available from Earth Angel pantry: GF raw treats.

The shop is full of chocolate goodies including Kennedy and wilson easter eggs and koko black bunnies.

A guest appearance by Sergio Gomez with organic cotton clothing and hand-shaped boards for sale out the front of the shop: EASTER SUNDAY + EASTER MONDAY

Roderick Poole from Wongarra farm will be here again with free range meats and eggs: EASTER SUNDAY + EASTER MONDAY

Its also the last weekend of the Lorne sculpture biennale and its well worth a look.

....And don't forget the CFA's easter fete on Saturday 😉
